Postcards can help promote and attract new students for your dance school. Here are tips that you can apply on your dance school’s next batch of postcards!

Heart Warming Tips for Your Dance School Postcards

- Production of a database to track upcoming birthdays. This is also an efficient way for you to remember unique details about your students, like their personal preferences in anything from food to clothing. Having these details about your students will make your prints more personal when you start writing your messages.

- Creating templates for your postcard is not a problem. You can have just a single design, and change only the message that you will be writing by hand. A combination of birthday images and your dance school can be a good mix for a design. Make sure that the people receiving your cards will immediately be able to determine that it came from your school; make them simple yet interesting.

- Postcards will only be effective if you are capable of producing them right. One great way to produce them affordably, in bulk, and with the least hassle on your part is through online printing. In many cases, you can edit design templates provided by an online printer, or upload one of your own to send to the presses.

- Finally, print postcards with the right attitude in mind. You’re not making these cards just for business; you should be making them because you genuinely care about your students as well.

In this article, we’ve outlined to you how to promote your dance school through postcards by maintaining contact with your former students, in the hopes that the good impression you keep with them long after they’ve paid you their tuition fee will encourage them to recommend your school to other people. Still, if this does not happen the way you want it to go, fret not! You never know what other opportunities are waiting in store for your dance school by keeping in touch with your students. Mix this promotional idea with your other marketing campaigns for the continued growth of your dance school!

As Salsa has become more popular so has the need for the dance wear that is needed when you dance. Shoes are one of the most important parts of dance wear for the dancer. Dance shoes differ from regular in many ways. First regular shoes are designed to look attractive as its first priority, and then they are made to be as comfortable as possible. Of course, compromises have to be made. The most beautiful shoes are certainly not necessarily comfortable if not uncomfortable and they will not be made for high impact activities. Dance shoes on the other hand, are designed from the beginning for comfort, grip on slick surfaces, light weight, and durability. After these features are designed into the shoe, then the looks of the shoe are developed. There are shoes available that are just as sexy and beautiful as regular shoe but are comfortable, durable, and light enough to dance in. In addition, you don’t necessarily have to pay more to have all of these features. Websites such as http://www.saveondancewear.com has a full selection of dance shoes at deep discounted prices to make them as affordable as regular shoes!

The next most important piece of dance wear you will absolutely have to have is your dance outfit. Much like shoes, the outfits made for dancing are greatly different than outfits made for regular wear and tear. Just as a runner would not run in blue jeans, a dancer would not Salsa dance in a formal dress. Dance wear is designed for ease of movement, comfort, and durability. With the exotic designs and styles of the outfits desired for salsa dancing, it is important to find a store that specializes in Salsa dance wear. The owners at http://www.saveondancewear.com state on their site, “With over 25 years in the dance industry we understand what dancers look for. Over the years we couldn’t find the quality, uniqueness, and prices we desired. We now can offer it to all dancers.”

Finally, you will want to get your dance wear accessories to go with your dance outfit, you will need to find durable jewelry that can stand up to the rigors of the intense moves that Salsa dancing demands. Bags and purses are available that are designed with dance wear storage in mind. These will have heavy duty components as well as extra large pockets for ease of use. Once you have your dance wear together it’s time to get out and dance!

Ballroom dancing is a great hobby, pastime and for some competitive activity. Getting started however can at times seem daunting so what’s the best way forward? Well it depends on several things such as what you want to achieve and the facilities available in your area

Before hitting the dance floor it is important to learn basic ballroom dancing moves and familiarize yourself with commonly used dance terms.

Rock Step is a slow sequence of two steps where the weight is transferred from one foot to another and then back. Rock back and rock forward are two basic versions.

Ball Change is also a sequence of two steps involving a partial weight transfer from the ball of one foot to another.

Kick Ball Change is a popular swing dance step that consists of a kick followed by the ball change. The timing is usually a split beat count of 1&2 or 1a2. Kick ball change has three distinct moves: a kick with the left foot, a slight push off the floor by the ball of the left foot behind the right foot, and a step with the right foot.

Triple step is also popular in swing dances. Three steps are performed on two beats of music, with the first step taken on count 1, the second step on the half beat between counts 1&2, and the final step on count 2. Also called a shuffle step, triple step is done in quick-quick-slow sequences, often counted as one-and-two or three-and-four.

Often a follower’s step in West Coast Swing, Coaster Step is a back-together-forward or forward-together-back triple step danced to the timing of quick-quick-slow.

Anchor Step is the concluding triple step pattern of nearly all main West Coast Swing dance moves. An anchor step ends with partners settling their weights on the back foot, hands held L-to-R, awaiting the leader’s next move.

Lock Step involves locking the moving foot as it approaches the standing foot. In this triple step pattern, the lower part of the moving leg crosses in front of or behind the lower part of the standing leg in the direction of the approach. Lock step is often used in quickstep and cha-cha moves.

One of the more popular basic ballroom dancing moves, grapevine includes side steps and steps across the support foot. It is a continuous traveling step pattern to the side with alternating crosses behind and in front of the supporting foot.

According to researchers social dancing provides the body with many health benefits. It may help reduce stress, increase energy, and improve strength, muscle tone, and co-ordination. One of dancing’s kinds is Ballroom Dancing.

Ballroom dancing is a partner dance and in most situations involves a man dancing with a woman. This isn’t always the case but this article concerns itself with the simple question of whether ballroom dancing makes a man more attractive to women.

First off it has to be said that dancing suffers from a shortage of willing male participants. This alone will make a man more attractive to a woman if the woman is either a dancer or wants to learn to dance. Indeed the author and his good lady met through dancing and romance blossomed although romance need not always be in the air! So for practical reasons alone a man will become more attractive or at least will make himself into a commodity in demand should he decide to become a ballroom dancer.

Secondly, it is often noted that women are attracted to confident men. Ballroom dancing demands that a man be confident and in control after all it’s a man’s job to lead the dance and ensure he makes his lady look nothing less than fabulous on the dance floor. Again this act will indeed make a man who ballroom dances more attractive to women.

Another reason why a man may well become more attractive to a women if he ballroom dances is the ‘look’ of ballroom dancing. Admittedly not all woman prefer their men to be groomed and polished but even the more rough and ready man, not unlike the author, can ‘scrub up’ when the occasion demands and this can often have a remarkable effect on the fairer sex. Indeed looking smart may well be one of the main reasons why ballroom dancing makes a man more attractive to women.

A quick scan of dance partner websites or a conversation with companies who run dance holidays will confirm that in the dance world men are in demand. In my mind there is no doubt ballroom dancing does make a man more attractive to women. Happy dancing.

You’ll probably have many options for dance schools you can attend. It may sound new age but very often your heart will make the right decision. If you have your heart set on a particular school or studio and it’s always been you dream to go there, then going with your heart will more times than not be the right decision.

If your heart is not set on a certain dance school though there are several things you may wish to consider. The first is where you want to go with your dancing and what you will learn at the dance school.

For example an aspiring ballerina would not think of going to anything other than a ballet school, however people who wanted to star in Broadway or Westend shows have made the decision to go to a ballet school and later regretted it because they realised they needed skills in other styles like tap or jazz as well as ballet to succeed.

Most of the time common sense will tell you the subjects and dance styles you’ll need to learn to succeed in your chosen field in dance. If you’re unsure ask other experienced dancers or do your research on the internet to find out which dance styles you should be concentrating on.

Dancers in certain dance styles aren’t required to go to a dance school and come out with a degree. In this case you should seek out the best teachers and trainers you can in your field.

For example if all you want to be is a popper, you’ll most likely find there aren’t any full-time schools specialising in this. So you’ll be responsible for your own education and may want to seek out people like the Electric Boogaloos (staying with the popping example) or other pioneers in the field.

Even if you don’t need to go to a dance school for the area of dance you want to get into you’ll probably find it beneficial as it’ll make you more employable. Sometimes unexpectedly your skills in one arena of dance will open doors in another area.

One other thing is to find teachers who’ll want to help you succeed and believe in and understand you. If your teachers play down your goals, or don’t understand what you want to achieve they probably aren’t right for you.

When you visit the school you should enjoy the atmosphere as you’ll be spending a lot of time there and having fun on any open days or summer short courses is a great indicator that you would enjoy being at the school on a more permanent basis.
